Mental Health Mondays - Caution: Emotionally Flammable (not dramatic just on BPD fire)⚠️

Published on July 7, 2025 at 2:27 PM

I am going to start this blog off with a TRIGGER WARNING: Suicide is discussed. Actually, screw it, just consider this a trigger warning for all my posts that have been made or that are to come.

If raw mental health talk, strong opinions, or hard truths shake your delicate mind, this is where you should exit. 🚫My blog isn’t here to coddle or sugarcoat bullshit, it is just my unfiltered truth served rough, kind of like your worst hangover. It’s about MY truths, MY opinions, MY stories and experiences, mixed with scientific information. Razzle Dazzle baby, let the chaos begin.✨️

Mental Health Monday’s – every Monday I will be providing a dose (see what I did there😂) of mental health realness. Discussing medications, treatments, physiological science and the messy truths that are all rolled up in there.

Sick is sick, ill is ill, and mental illness, is just that, an illness, even if it doesn’t come with casts, crutches or a hospital bed - sometimes it actually does come with just that though.

There is such a stigma with mental illness, and I have seen first hand how real the stigma is and it seems even though there is a ton of advocacy for ending the stigma, it still remains.

Fun fact –studies suggest that sometimes people with BPD experience emotional pain that is neurologically and psychologically so severe it is the same a those with third degree burns. Suggested with science, brain scans, and testing. I have never been lit on fire, but I can imagine that is NOT the kind of lit you want to feel.

Now there is people feeling that without having the physical act of being burnt, without the visual of said burns, but they are feeling all that pain. Yet people are telling them they need to "calm down" or "get over it".

People also think it isn’t real. That sounds crazy to me... and in my experience, a lot of those people who believe mental illness is NOT real, also believe in an imaginary guy in the sky, so the logic there just does not make sense. Its actually illogical.

There we go again with the "ill"

There are really people like that out there. There are people out there who feel like they are being lit on fire from emotional pain and people who think this is all made up by medication companies to make a profit or the people who are sick to get sympathy, along with other conspiracy theories.

A lot of people feel so alone. I often feel alone.

I am so fortunate though to have a great support system. Loving people who check in, even though I am usually not okay, but I will say “I’m okay” or “I’m fine😊”. Then I turn into the true self isolating queen I am and spiral alone.

Blessed with loving support, cursed with the talent of self-isolation (I did okay with Covid restrictions 💁‍♀️).

We need to kill the stigma before it kills more people, because that is exactly what it does.

Make no mistake, mental illness already does a great job at that on its own. Now mix in - outdated opinions, ignorance appearing as advice and just straight up mean, cruel, bully people, and you have got yourself the perfect suicide cocktail – shaken and stirred, served over ice, to the ones who are already struggling to stay alive.

I have a lot more on that topic to come, but as a first Mental Health Monday post, I will leave it at that.

Happy Monday💋
